Relaxed renovation philosophy when transforming property

The owner of this house has a philosophy for renovation so simple, it will make you wonder why you did not do the same.

House renovation, then sell to make profits.
The house at 80 Gatton Street, Mount Gravatt East, is for sale.

MARCIN Machura and his wife Cynamon Norris bought their Mount Gravatt East home four years ago for its potential.

Mr Machura said they had been looking for a property they could improve and the house at 80 Gatton St fit the bill.

Simple kitchen renovation
The kitchen has been recently renovated.

“We saw it and there were just a couple of small things we could do to lift the property,” he said.

“It was an older house but really well built, with hardwoods, so it seemed like it had really good bones.”

Sand and polish timber floor
Polished timber floorboards flow through the house.

Bit by bit, the couple renovated the property, but Mr Machura said they were in no rush.

“It was never like ‘we need to do this right now’, we did it because we saw a vision of how we wanted to present the property,” he said.

“When I felt like doing renos, I’d do them, and when I didn’t feel like it I didn’t.”

Functional bathroom with mirror cabinets
The bathroom has plenty of storage.

This calm approach made the process enjoyable for the couple, and also meant they achieved a lot over the years.

They replaced the gutters and added more, painted and rendered the exterior of the home, and renovated the kitchen and the bathroom.

Modern bedrooms renovation
The bedrooms are versatile.

They replaced most of the light fittings, put in a new hot water system, and outside they cut down a number of trees, renovated the pool, added new turf and fencing.

Modern house swimming pool
The pool has been renovated and an entertainment area added.
