The owner of this house has a philosophy for renovation so simple, it will make you wonder why you did not do the same.

MARCIN Machura and his wife Cynamon Norris bought their Mount Gravatt East home four years ago for its potential.
Mr Machura said they had been looking for a property they could improve and the house at 80 Gatton St fit the bill.

“We saw it and there were just a couple of small things we could do to lift the property,” he said.
“It was an older house but really well built, with hardwoods, so it seemed like it had really good bones.”

Bit by bit, the couple renovated the property, but Mr Machura said they were in no rush.
“It was never like ‘we need to do this right now’, we did it because we saw a vision of how we wanted to present the property,” he said.
“When I felt like doing renos, I’d do them, and when I didn’t feel like it I didn’t.”

This calm approach made the process enjoyable for the couple, and also meant they achieved a lot over the years.
They replaced the gutters and added more, painted and rendered the exterior of the home, and renovated the kitchen and the bathroom.

They replaced most of the light fittings, put in a new hot water system, and outside they cut down a number of trees, renovated the pool, added new turf and fencing.
